In Châteauroux (central France), Sogea Centre (VINCI Construction France), as leader of a consortium, is to create, on a general contracting basis, an international-standard shooting range complex for the French shooting federation.

Located on the site of a former NATO air base (78 hectares), the project comprises:
- A 1,700 sq. metre clubhouse area also accommodating offices and reception facilities for international competitions. - Two shooting ranges: one 200 m in length, the other 300/600 m, protected by 7 m-high berms (14 m in height at the end of the range).
- A clay target range for 25 shooters, protected by a 15 m-high berm.
- A 10 m indoor range for 90 shooters at a time.
- Two 25/50 m ranges for 140 shooters.
- Outdoor rapid fire ranges composed of 2,500 lm of embankments, 6 to 10 m in height.

This project will obviously aim to preserve existing vegetation and, with the earthworks involving some 600,000 cu. metres of material, to balance cut and fill. The contract for the design side having been signed on 11.12.2014, it is expected the application for the building permit will be filed in mid-March, with the works (lasting 14 months) scheduled to start in July 2015. An option for a “Final” range may be confirmed once the project design & planning phase has been completed.
