1 April 2014 - Projects update and handover - France

On 21 January 2014, in Le Havre (Normandy), the foundation stone was laid for the future site of the French national maritime school (ENSM). The design and construction of this building, with a surface area of more than 10,000 sq. metres over 7 levels, have been entrusted to a consortium comprising Sogea Nord-Ouest (VINCI Construction France), AIA-Associés and Echos et Economie 80. The school will open to students at the start of the academic year in September 2015. A positive energy building, producing more energy than it consumes, this structure will play a pioneering role in the move towards sustainable development thanks, notably, to its aspect (natural lighting), its outside staircase (ventilation), its photovoltaic power plant (900 sq. metres of panels), a seawater heat pump system and an external envelope of perforated metal.
Project value: €19m for the design-build consortium.
