Works for the new South quay in the port of Cotonou

A consortium composed of Sogea-Satom, leader, Dumez Maroc and Dredging International, a DEME subsidiary (CFE), all subsidiaries of VINCI Construction, has secured a contract for works aimed at increasing the capacity to accommodate freight ships of the new South quay in the port of Cotonou. The project notably includes dredging and beaconing the access channel, dredging and widening the entry channel and the inner harbours, and extending the West harbour wall by 230 m.
The works will last 19 months as of 18 March 2013. Financed by the West African Development Bank (WADB), several Benin banks and the Autonomous Port of Cotonou, the project is valued at €46.1m.
