At the World Gas Conference, held in Paris from 1 to 5 June 2015, VINCI is presenting itself for the first time as a global provider of specialised solutions and services for the rapidly expanding Oil & Gas sector.

Every three years, more than 3,000 professionals from round the world gather for the World Gas Conference (WGC) to discuss the sector’s goals and prospects. This year, against a backdrop of growing oil and gas demand and the effort to combat climate change, nearly 350 companies are exhibiting their solutions and technological developments.

During the conference, which is organised by the International Gas Union (IUG), VINCI is for the first time exhibiting solutions and services covering the entire O&G value chain. The Group offers a full range of know-how supported by the combined expertise of its subsidiariesActemium (VINCI Energies), Entrepose, Soletanche Freyssinet, Sogea Satom, and VINCI Construction Grands Projets.

Expansion in the Oil & Gas sector, a key part of the Group’s strategy

VINCI’s development in the Oil & Gas sector is an illustration of a major thrust of its strategy of expansion in activities with high technical content and world regions with high growth potential.

The Group has worked on Oil & Gas projects for many years. Its main focus has primarily been on civil engineering (provided by VINCI Construction) and on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and systems work (provided by VINCI Energies). The Group’s position as a global O&G player covering upstream and downstream activities is more recent and dates from its acquisition of Entrepose in 2007 and Cegelec (which operates more particularly under the Actemium brand) in 2010.VINCI’s competitive turnkey Oil & Gas solutions are supported by the financial strength and reputation of a major international group, as well as by synergies with other VINCI activities, particularly in civil engineering. Depending on the project, Entrepose and Actemium can therefore call on other VINCI companies to provide foundations and ground improvement (Soletanche Bachy and Menard), earthworks (VINCI Construction Terrassement, Sogea-Satom), retaining works (Terre Armée), all types of infrastructure and civil engineering works (VINCI Construction Grands Projets, Freyssinet) and other client services.

VINCI’s expansion in the Oil and Gas sector is also driven by the Group’s strong international presence. VINCI operates in about 100 countries around the world.

Goals supported by long-term needs around the world

In the Oil & Gas sector, VINCI’s goal is to be a benchmark player in its specialised activities and to expand internationally. These goals are supported by high Oil & Gas infrastructure requirements in coming years. The Group’s priority geographical areas are Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North and South America and Africa.
