Welding of the first rail on first stretch of Bordeaux tramway’s Line D

The Eurovia joint venture in charge since May 2017 of the construction of the first stretch of Line D of the tramway in Bordeaux (west of France) welded the first rail of the route on 4 October.

Eurovia Gironde and Moter will together be supplying all the infrastructure associated with this project (civil engineering, earthworks, sanitation, dry networks, quality surfacing, kerbs and gutters, asphalt), while ETF, leader, will lay 7.2 km of track, 90% of it using anti-vibration techniques. 

Connected with Lines B and C, this new route will cover the north- western quarter of the Bordeaux conurbation, thus directly serving 37% of the area’s population and jobs.

About 100 colleagues will be working on the project until it is handed over in spring 2019.
