Having completed the construction of this unique structure, VINCI has embarked on a sponsorship of the retrospective for architect Frank Gehry at the Centre Pompidou.

1 April 2014 - New contracts - France

On 28 February 2014, VINCI Construction France handed over the Louis Vuitton Foundation building in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. Located on the edge of the Jardin d’Acclimatation, this structure will be accommodating collections of contemporary art as of October 2014. Designed by the architect Frank Gehry, who created the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao (Spain), the building, with a net floor area of 13,700 sq. metres, is characterized by its 12 glass roofs, their curved forms giving it the appearance of a cloud. To create this building-sculpture, VINCI Construction France used an innovative technical design process within the framework of a general contracting contract. It relied on a digital mock-up of the design, modelling all the structure’s component parts, which enabled all those working on the project to share the same basic documentation and then launch the industrial manufacture of the various elements of the basic structure, the steel framework, the glass roofs, the “icebergs” and their cladding. Group companies contributing to the project, awarded in December 2008, included Petit, GTM Bâtiment, Dodin Campenon Bernard, Santerne IDF Tertiaire and Axians VP. Following its completion of this exceptional building, VINCI now aims to work in partnership with the Louis Vuitton Foundation and sponsor the Centre Pompidou for a retrospective of the oeuvre of Frank Gehry, which will also feature at the Louis Vuitton Foundation when the latter opens to the public in October.
