6 November 2017 - Projects update and handover - Canada

On 30 October 2017, VINCI Highways (VINCI Concessions) brought into service the first phase of the Regina Bypass project in Canada in a ceremony attended by David Marit, Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, regional elected representatives and the project teams.

Being undertaken in synergy with VINCI Construction Terrassement and Carmacks (Eurovia), the construction phase will last a further two years and involve: construction of 45 km of new roadways; renovation of 20 km of existing road; 12 interchanges with 33 engineering structures.

Phase 1 of the project was delivered on schedule, and in compliance with the Group’s safety requirements with 3.1 million hours worked without a major accident. The biggest-ever infrastructure project in the history of the province of Saskatchewan, and the first project of such amplitude to be implemented there on a public-private partnership basis, the Regina Bypass is aimed at enhancing road safety on the Trans- Canada Highway to the east of Regina, improving traffic flow and supporting the economic development of the region.
Handover of the entire project is scheduled for 2019.
