20 March 2015 - New contracts - France

On 2 February 2015, Syctom, Europe’s largest household waste treatment agency, which covers 84 municipalities in the Paris region, awarded the contract to build and operate the future Ivry-Paris XIII waste recovery centre to the IP13 consortium.
Within the consortium, where it will be working in association with Sita (a subsidiary of the Suez Environnement Group and lead contractor), VINCI will be responsible for the bulk of the design-build contract, the various components of which will be implemented by VINCI Construction France, via its VINCI Environnement and Chantiers Modernes Construction subsidiaries, and by VINCI Energies. In total, implementation of this project will extend over a little over twelve years, with the various modules being commissioned as they are completed.
VINCI Environnement will be charged with the process-related work: the mechanical-biological process, the water-steam cycle in the waste-to-energy unit and the on-site water treatment system, and will also install the series of stacks. As a member of a general contracting consortium, Chantiers Modernes Construction will be responsible for the design-build construction of the buildings on a general contracting basis as well as the civil engineering, the main services and the demolition of obsolete facilities. VINCI Energies, for its part, will be in charge of the design and implementation of some of the future facility’s electrical, monitoring & control and fire protection systems.
