16 January 2015 - New contracts - France

The city and urban community (LMCU) of Lille (north of France) have awarded the consortium formed by EJL Lille-Flandres (Eurovia), Eurovia STR Lille, VPN (Eurovia) and IdVerde l works package 1 of the planned transformation of the Champ-de-Mars. The project will involve turning this space, currently used as a car park, into a multi-purpose area able to accommodate a variety of events (funfairs, circuses…). On either side of this area, two new car parks will be created (for about 1,000 cars). On the Citadel side, the defensive installations designed by Vauban will be reconstituted, with the historic glacis, the roofed-over access route, the firing steps and the parade grounds; on the Deûle side, a 1 km-long walkway will be created.
