Strengthening the Swedish power grid

The VINCI Energies Omexom brand has signed a framework contract with energy supplier E.ON to strengthen the Swedish power grid and make it more weather-resilient and reliable during the winter months in order to reduce power outages.

The works, to be carried out between 2020 and 2023, will consist in burying and securing the grid, replacing overhead with underground power lines. The project will boost security of supply and expand access to sustainable energy. The new contract extends the longstanding collaboration with E.ON in Sweden in building and maintaining transformer substations and power lines.
