Stabilising slopes

Soletanche Czech Republic, a subsidiary of Soletanche Freyssinet (VINCI Construction), is currently stabilising sloping ground at an open-cast coalmining site in Bilina (North Bohemia). The technique being deployed involves the installa­tion of concrete blocks, and tie rods, together with the insertion of piles and micro-piles.
The works are due for completion in May.
