Smart City Week: girls from secondary and engineering schools to discover jobs building the city of tomorrow

Organised by the Elles bougent association, the third Smart City Week was held from 9 to 13 October 2023. This event, which is aimed at secondary school girls and female students, highlights the different careers involved in building the cities of tomorrow.
Alongside other companies in the sector, professional federations and higher education establishments, VINCI’s teams have taken action to welcome students and share their daily activities, jobs and careers with them.

Visits to work and operating sites, presentations of the Group's business areas, discussions with the teams... Nearly 10 meetings were held in VINCI’s subsidiaries in France, Canada, Madagascar and Senegal.

The main aim of Elles bougent, which was set up in 2005, is to promote gender diversity and attract more women to the world of industry and technology, where they still make up only a small percentage of the total headcount.
Since the start of its partnership with the association in 2018, more than 700 sponsors and contact persons - both male and female VINCI employees - have worked to promote engineering, technical and scientific careers to secondary school girls and students.
