Roundabout in Slovakia

At Michalovce, in the east of Slovakia, the former signal-controlled intersection has been replaced by a roundabout (diameter: 64 m), improving traffic flow. The works were carried out by Euroviabetween November 2013 and early October 2014 and delivered almost two months ahead of schedule. The project notably involved installing a porous road surface, creating footbridges and pavements, urban lighting equipment, the reconstruction and protection of LV lines, and the redevelopment of a major urban artery. Undertaken on behalf of the Slovak highway authority and the highway authority of the Košice region, the project was partly financed by the European Union.
