Re-routing the A9: second bridge deck over the Lez
1 October 2015 - Projects update and handover - France
On the project to re-route the A9 motorway in Montpellier (south of France), where ASF (VINCI Autoroutes) is acting as contracting authority, the south deck of the Lez-Lironde viaduct was launched into position over the Lez river on 2 September 2015. This 600 m-long engineering structure, located in the commune of Lattes, is the most significant on the new route. It is composed of two decks, one for each traffic direction; the first was installed between June and August this year. Completion of the new, 2x3-lane motorway is scheduled for late 2017: once opened, it will improve traffic flow by separating through transit from local traffics.
