Rail link in the Czech Republic

On 16 December 2014, the rail link between Leoš Janaček Airport and the Mošnov industrial zone in Ostrava (in the east of the country) was officially opened following completion of the works carried out by Eurovia CS. This 2.9 km-long rail link arrives in the terminal building, which is directly linked to the airport’s departures area. The project also involved creating a car park and a road viaduct, and installing catenaries. The project was co-funded by the European Union Transport Fund.
