Project to supply drinking water in Côte d’Ivoire

Since September 2018, the teams from Sogea-Satom have been involved in the first project to supply drinking water to Abidjan from the Mé river (which runs north east of the financial capital of Côte d’Ivoire).

The project, which is divided into several sections, requires piping to be laid across two rivers and work to be conducted in a very busy neighbourhood of the capital. To rise to these challenges, half of the workforce (92% of which is Ivorian) was recruited specifically for the project. It will enable people living in Abidjan and near the pipes to access drinking water at a time when demand for drinking water in the city is exceeding supply by 33%.
