1 February 2014 - New contracts - France

At the western end of the La Défense business neighbourhood, work has started on the Nanterre Arena. Being created on behalf of the company Racing Arena, this new facility, with a surface area of 115,000 sq. metres, will be capable of being configured, as required, as a rugby stadium (32,000 spectators) or as an entertainment venue (up to 40,000 spectators) and will have high-performance soundproofing. It is being built by GTM Bâtiment (leader), Petit, Chantiers Modernes Construction and TPI (all VINCI Construction France subsidiaries), in association with architect Christian de Portzamparc, within the framework of a design-build contract. Soletanche Bachy (VINCI Construction) is supplying the deep foundations. The technical works package has been entrusted to VINCI Energies France business units: Santerne IdF Tertiaire is responsible for the high-voltage works, GTIE Tertiaire for the low-voltage works, Lefort Francheteau for the HVAC works (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and Saga Grands Projets Immobilier for the plumbing. The project also calls for the creation of 30,000 sq. metres of offices and retail outlets.
Handover of the stadium is scheduled for late 2016.
