1 January 2014 - New contracts - United States of America

In the United States, in the State of Georgia, Hubbard Construction, a Eurovia subsidiary, has won the design-build contract for the Northwest Corridor projectin Atlanta. Valued at €440 million, this project will be implemented by a consortium led by Archer Western Contractors (Walsh Group). Entry into service is scheduled for 2018. The project involves creating new, reversible express lanes, including 39 bridges, alongside 48 km of the I-75 and I-575 highways. There will be minimal disruption to traffic on the existing carriageways. The design approach is innovative, with lanes in part built on Reinforced Earth® walls supplied by Reinforced Earth, a subsidiary of Soletanche Freyssinet (VINCI Construction), in order to limit the new infrastructure’s footprint. With this project, the State of Georgia is launching its programme to build, and then operate, dedicated toll express lanes on the main highways around Atlanta.
