Maritime structures for the mining industry in Chile

1 April 2015 - Projects update and handover - Chile

The consortium composed of Geocean (Entrepose Contracting/VINCI Construction), leader, CSM Bessac (Soletanche Freyssinet/VINCI Construction), Montec and Bel is currently building seawater intake and outfall structures on behalf of the Escondida mine, as part of the expansion of a desalinated water production plant. Geocean has just nished drilling the second well (diameter: 7 m; depth: 11 m) and will now be tackling the third and nal one. Soletanche Bachy and CSM Bessac will be excavating three microtunnels and installing the two water intake and two discharge lines. Completion of the works is scheduled for January 2016.
