Japan: Kansai international airport’s extended and renovated terminal inaugurated

VINCI Airports (VINCI Concessions) opened the international terminal at Kansai international airport (KIX), Osaka, on 5 December 2023.

The extended and renovated terminal meets the highest passenger experience standards.  The revamp has increased its capacity from 23 million to 40 million passengers, with more efficient flow management at customs and security checks.
The new retail area features several brands, including luxury names, and the new restaurants serve a choice of local and Japanese specialities. 
This is the second phase of the reconfiguration and upgrade project that began in 2020 (the airport had opened the domestic area in Terminal 1, the first phase, in October 2022). 
The project is also aimed at supporting tourism growth in Japan, notably in the build-up to World Expo 2025 in Osaka.
This new phase ranks KIX among the Asian airports that treat passengers to an unrivalled experience and choice of retail amenities.
