Installing double-track sections on a railway line in Guinea Conakry

Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction) and ETF (Eurovia) are currently working as a consortium on a project to install double-track sections on a railway line between Kamsar and Sangarédi, in the west of the country.

After Sogea-Satom teams completed the earthworks, the ETF teams commenced the railway works proper this March. They involve laying 37 km of track on the new sections.

The infrastructure upgrading will eventually allow mining operators to export an additional 24 million tonnes of bauxite a year along this corridor, taking total capacity to 40 million tonnes a year.
The works should be completed end 2019.
