On 31 October 2016, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, together with his Ivorian counterpart, Daniel Kablan Duncan, and the Ivorian Minister for Infrastructure, Patrick Achi, inaugurated the Songon drinking water treatment plant in Abidjan, built by Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction International Network).

Each day this plant must treat 50,000 cu. metres of water drawn from boreholes in the adjacent water table.

On this project, Sogea-Satom was responsible for three works packages: works packages 6 and 7 involved the civil engineering for the stripping towers, the neutralisation and disinfection building and the construction of two circular, 5,000 cu. metre concrete tanks.

Works package 8, where Sogea-Satom was lead contractor, concerned the equipment of the 2,500 cu. metres/h recovery room and the two tanks.
