First bridge assembled on-site in Indonesia

On the island of Java, late February 2018 saw Freyssinet (VINCI Construction) hand over the Kalikuto Bridge, the first in the country to have been assembled on-site.

Linking the districts of Batang and Kendal, this arch bridge features a 100 m-long main span in steel. The teams notably supplied technical assistance for the lowering of the two demi-arches, as well as 36 hangers (vertical rods linking the deck of the bridge to the suspension cables) which they also installed. This structure forms part of the Trans-Java motorway project, launched by the government with the aim of improving West-East mobility on the island of Java.
