Expansion and modernisation of Salvador da Bahia Airport

VINCI Airports (VINCI Concessions),in a joint venture with Teixeira Duarte Engenharia and Construções SA, Alves Ribeiro SA of Brazil and OEngenharia LTDA (VINCI Energies), has signed an EPC contract – Engineering, Procurementand Construction Management – with Actemium Transport Solutions (VINCI Energies International & Systems) forthe first phase of the project to expandand modernise Salvador da Bahia Airport.

Aimed at promoting an increase in traffic,it involves extending the existing terminal from 64,550 to 84,550 sq. metres, installing a new automated system for the management of baggage and of security checks, and the provision of six additional passenger boarding bridges. The construction joint venture was selected for its experience in working on huge infrastructure projects – notably at Lisbon Airport, also operated by VINCI Airports.The works start in April 2018 and will be completed in October 2019.
