Following the Jacques Chaban-Delmas lift bridge in Bordeaux, VINCI is working on another flagship project for the city. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, this new enclosure with 42 000 seats represents a work of a new generation of multifunctional stadiums, perfectly integrated in the urban site. Zoom on the site of the stadium unique design, which is scheduled for delivery in spring 2015.

The construction of the new Bordeaux stadium began in November 2012 for a delivery in April 2015. The race against time set off in October 2011, when the contract was signed.
The environmentally friendly complex will be built to BBC standards and equipped, in particular, with photovoltaic panels and a rainwater recovery system for watering the pitch.

The Stade Bordeaux Atlantique consortium in which VINCI Construction France and Fayat are equal partners is responsible for design, financing, construction and operation of the stadium over a period of 30 years.

Apart from VINCI Concessions regional teams, the Structures Geotechnics subsidiary carried out the geotechnical studies, while two Soletanche Freyssinet entities – Menard and Soletanche Bachy Pieux – were responsible, respectively, for ground reinforcement and foundations. Eurovia is involved in the project through its local subsidiary Moter, which is handling earthworks, roads and external works, while Girebat, a VINCI Constructions France subsidiary, is responsible for prefabrication on site of the concrete bleachers – and is keeping pace with the construction schedule. VINCI Facilities, which will be responsible for upkeep and maintenance, participated in optimisation of the project from the design phase, with a continuing involvement in execution phase to factor in life cycles, maintenance and equipment replacement costs.
