Following its inauguration by the president of the Republic of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, the Santiago metro system’s new Line 6, created by ETF (Eurovia), is now in service.

Fully automated and 15 km in length, this line boasts 10 stations, serves seven communes in the Santiago conurbation and thus enhances the day-to-day mobility of more than a million people.

The joint venture headed by ETF (Eurovia) had secured the contract for the design-build and maintenance for 20 years of Santiago’s new metro lines 6 and 3 in 2013, a contract covering the track works, the catenaries and the cable conduits. The maintenance contract for Line 6 entered into force on 2 November 2017.

Line 3, due to be inaugurated in October 2018, will add a further 22 km and 18 stations to Santiago’s metro network.
