Contract for the construction of a gas pipeline

Jemena, an Australian company specialising in the transportation of energy and water, has appointed Spiecapag Australia (Entrepose/VINCI Construction) to build the section of the Northern Gas Pipeline (NGP) that will cross Queensland.

The works involve 142 km of 12-inch steel high-pressure gas pipeline and associated services on the installations from east of the Queensland border to the end of the pipeline at Mount Isa (in the west of the state).

Mobilised since late June 2017, teams are due to start the works in August, with handover of the project scheduled for summer 2018.

Once completed, this pipeline (total length: 622 km) will enable the eastern market to be supplied from the gas fields of the Northern Territory.
