At the end of August 2020, Bameo, in which VINCI Concessions holds a 50% stake, completed the construction phase of a public-private partnership with the Voies navigables de France (VNF).

The work, which started back in 2015, involved upgrading 31 dams, of which 25 along the River Meuse, between Givet and Verdun and a further six along the River Aisne between Compiegne and Soissons. The design and construction work for all the structures was awarded to the Corebam consortium made up of three subsidiaries of VINCI Construction France – VINCI Construction Maritime et Fluvial (lead company), GTM Hallé and VINCI Construction France TP Lyon. This large-scale project (spanning 250 km along the River Meuse and 50 km along the River Aisne) is part of a wider wave of river infrastructure upgrade projects carried out by VNF in France. It will help redress the environmental balance of the River Aisne and River Meuse by installing fish ladders to facilitate the migration of species travelling upstream.
