Axians, VINCI Energies’ new weapon for the ICT market

Axians is the VINCI Energies brand devoted to information and communication technologies. It brings together all the business line’s networks specialising in IT solutions and services. Launched at the end of March 2015, the “new” Axians brand is a major international player in this market, which has huge growth potential, particularly in such segments as the Cloud, Big Data and mobility, working in synergy with other VINCI Energies brands and activities.

“Now, we’re playing in the big leagues,” says Patrick Lebrun, deputy managing director of VINCI Energies and chairman of the Axians brand. Indeed, Axians is central to all VINCI Energies’ businesses – energy, industry, transport, buildings and smart cities – and supports the group with its ICT expertise, generating annual revenue of around $1.6 billion in 15 countries.

A new business combination to achieve an ambitious goal

The new brand is the result of combining three business unit networks specialising in IT solutions and services: those of Axians and Graniou (Axians, specialist in communication solutions for businesses, local authorities and public institutions; Graniou, specialist in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, preferred partner of major fixed and mobile network operators, telecoms equipment suppliers and local authorities) with those of Imtech ICT (specialist in Cloud solutions, IT security, the development of business applications and Business Intelligence, using Big Data in particular. The acquisition of Imtech ICT, which contributes annual revenue of some €700 million, was VINCI’s biggest last year.
With this new tie-up, Axians now ranks as the most international of VINCI Energies’ brands, generating 70% of its revenue outside France.

With its 7,000 employees, Axians supports its customers in their move towards an ever more connected world, determined to help them achieve their goals and optimise their performance. To do that, the brand deploys solutions using leading edge technologies throughout the life cycle of ICT projects, from design to operation, from infrastructure to tailored applications, on site or in Cloud mode.

A player in the connected world

For Jean-Yves Le Fèvre, director of the Axians brand, “Over and beyond technologies, we are now building a comprehensive range based on customer processes and needs.” This approach to creating value for the customer is reflected in the brand’s new signature, “The best of ICT with a human touch”.
The challenge in a world where everything is smart – smart city, smart grid, smart building, smart factory, etc. – is to mesh Axians’ solutions and services with those developed by VINCI Energies as a whole.
“This is just the start of our new project,” says Jean-Yves Le Fèvre. “With the Internet of Things, the smart city, Industry 4.0, buildings and mobility solutions of the future, Axians will be working more and more closely with the VINCI Group’s other businesses. When you consider that some of Axians’ markets such as the Cloud and Big Data are undergoing double-digit growth, you can just imagine the prospects for expansion!”
