Asbestos removal and demolition works at La Santé

Cardem Paris (Eurovia) will by the end of January 2016 complete the works (removal of lead and asbestos, demolition and clearing works) of the first phase of the project to rehabilitate La Santé prison, in Paris. In total, 90,000 t of rubble have been removed, at a rate at times reaching 120 lorry-loads a day. The next stage, to be implemented by GTM Bâtiment and Lainé Delau (VINCI Construction France subsidiaries), will involve rebuilding the upper area of the prison and rehabilitating the lower areas, at a pace that will not disrupt the parts of the prison still being used for prisoners. It will be recalled that this project is being implemented within the framework of a public-private partnership between Adim Concepts (VINCI Construction France) and the body responsible for judicial buildings (APIJ, French Ministry of Justice).
