Continuing its expansion outside France, VINCI has recently acquired the New Zealand public works contractor HEB Construction. This company now joins the network of subsidiaries of VINCI Construction International Network, whose role is to support the development of the Group outside France. Created more than 40 years ago, HEB Construction is a leader in the construction sector in New Zealand, its broad expertise extending across roadworks, earthworks, civil engineering, engineering structures, hydraulics, maritime and port works, prefabrication and transport. The company employs 750 people and, in 2014, generated sales valued at some €230 million. A major player in the development of the country’s infrastructure, HEB Construction, on its own or working with others, undertakes major turnkey (design & build) projects worth as much as €500 million. As part of a consortium, it won a new contract in April for the creation of 27 km of 2x2-lane carriageway on the access road into the capital, Wellington, on the North Island. Worth over €500 million, this infrastructure project is one of the biggest currently under way in New Zealand.
