2014 was a particularly good year for VINCI Airports (VINCI Concessions) as regards the increase in passenger numbers, route openings, the arrival of new airlines and passenger services. By the end of 2014, 46.8 million passengers had passed through the 23 airports managed by VINCI Airports in Portugal, Cambodia and France, up 9.1% on 2013.
Particularly outstanding performances were recorded in Portugal (35.1 million passengers, +9.5%) and in Cambodia (5.7 million, +12.8%). In France, across the ten managed airports, traffic increased over the year by an average of 3.5%. Three major airports passed significant milestones for the first time in 2014: 18 million passengers in Lisbon, 4 million in Nantes and 3 million at Siem Reap (Angkor).
On the back of this success, in 2015 VINCI Airports is set to be appointed by the French Directorate-General for Civil Aviation to operate the civil airport of Toulon-Hyères (south of France). The 25-year contract also includes runway renovation works worth €18.7 million. In 2014, this airport handled more than 500,000 passengers. Thanks to its know-how, VINCI Airports was able to contribute, in 2014, to the introduction of over 10 new air routes, welcome ten new airlines (its 23 managed airports now work with a total of 107 scheduled airlines) and improve the comfort, facilities and customer experience offered to travellers with the opening of new retail outlets and the provision of unlimited free Wi-Fi. VINCI Airports is now seen as a major player in the sector and in sustainable regional development, in a market driven by the growth in air traffic.
