VINCI wins contract for cancer teaching clinic in Toulouse

26 October 2009 - New contracts - France

A health care cooperation consortium has awarded VINCI Construction France the shell and core (civil works, water-proofing, joinery) of the contract to build the cancer teaching clinic at Toulouse’s new cancer research and care centre, the Cancéropôle.

Located on the former AZF factory site, the Cancéropôle comprises 220 hectares of private research centres, a public research centre, a multidisciplinary research project centre and the teaching clinic.

The teaching clinic, a unique research facility in Europe, will bring together public and private institutions and stakeholders to share innovative tools and treatment methods to combat cancer.

Seven buildings, covering a total surface area of 100,000 sq. metres, will accommodate 312 patients and 1,200 health care professionals.

This programme, financed entirely by the French government, will start in October 2009 and take 36 months to complete. The value of the building envelope works package is about €75 million.
