Mission accomplished at Olkiluoto

In Finland, teams fromFreyssinet, a subsidiary ofSoletanche Freyssinet (VINCI Construction), have completedtheir prestressing project atthe Olkiluoto EPR, the first 3rdgenerationnuclear reactor, onbehalf of Areva. The company’sinput involved supplying anddeploying the various elementsof the reactor enclosure’sprestressed concrete – ducts,strands, wedges, anchorbodies, etc. 270 cables wereinstalled – a total of 2,400 tonnesof prestressing steel.
