In late July 2017, with the LGV SEA, Bordeaux and Paris will be just two hours apart.

The civil engineering works on the 302 km of high-speed line and the 38 km of connections to the existing rail network are nearing completion. Work began on installing the railway equipment in November 2014 and the first high-speed rails, the 432 m-long continuous welded rails, have been transported to the works bases by ETF (Eurovia).
