Underground car park in Corsica

In the market place in the centre of Ajaccio (southern Corsica), the town is creating a three-level underground car park (capacity: 668 light vehicles). Soletanche Bachy (Soletanche Freyssinet/ VINCI Construction) has just completed the 2,500 sq. metre diaphragm wall of the peripheral wall. 140 temporary tie rods and 140 pins will be installed as the earthworks advance – they start this spring. The raft of the structure will be founded on 349 micropiles.
The car park is due to open in spring 2016.
