Taxiways at Zanzibar Airport

Within the framework of a project financed by the World Bank, Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction) has been appointed to refurbish and extend parking areas and taxiways at Zanzibar Airport. The contract also calls for the creation of an additional taxiway, to link up with the runway extension built in 2009 by the Sogea-Satom teams. The aim is to continue upgrading the airport so that it can handle larger planes.
Valued at €30m, the works began in September 2012 and will take 18 months to complete.
