Scale up!: a second edition to accelerate the roll-out of VINCI’s environmental solutions

Following the success of its first edition, VINCI is launching the second cohort of Scale up!, its programme dedicated to accelerating and rolling out the Group’s most promising environmental solutions on a large scale.

Designed by the Environment Department and Leonard, VINCI’s innovation and foresight platform, Scale up! supports projects with a significant environmental impact. Its aim is to transform local initiatives into solutions that can be deployed widely across the business lines and regions where VINCI operates.

For one year, project leaders benefit from bespoke support combining coaching, mentoring, environmental expertise, marketing and sales support, as well as privileged access to the Group’s ecosystem to help them take the decisive step of scaling up.

Reflecting VINCI’s ambition, the supported solutions address six key challenges of the environmental transition: mitigation (decarbonisation), adaptation to climate change, new materials, reuse and recovery, water and renaturation.

True to the motto of the VINCI Environment Awards – “local solutions, global impact” – Scale up! reaffirms VINCI’s commitment to identifying, supporting and amplifying solutions that will help accelerate the environmental transformation of the Group and its businesses.

Among the solutions and projects supported in the first cohort:

Revilo® (VINCI Construction), an urban development solution designed to tackle heat islands, which relies on four key elements to provide a comprehensive response: rainwater management, the choice of surfacing (light-coloured and permeable), vegetation cover, and soil.

WiseBMS (VINCI Energies), a proprietary AI solution that enables the control of heating and air-conditioning systems in commercial buildings fitted with a building management system (BMS). The solution aims to optimise the energy consumption of buildings whilst improving occupant comfort.

Ecological recovery operator (VINCI Concessions) is a turnkey compensation service offering for local authorities. It involves utilising available land within the motorway estate – known as ‘green areas’ – as sites for biodiversity conservation and carbon storage.
This solution is now supported by the Intrapreneurs programme within Leonard.
