Rehabilitation of the siphon of a dam in Laos
Freyssinet (VINCI Construction) has carried out major works to rehabilitate the concrete siphon (an 8,000 m² structure associated with the discharge channel, which passes beneath the river) of the Nam Gnom hydroelectric power plant in Laos.
Requiring a complete shutdown of the plant for three months, the operation involved repairing joints, filling in cracks by injection, and repairing the concrete by hydrodemolition followed by spraying concrete by the dry method. The works were completed in late March 2023.
