Foundation stone laid for cancerology and biology centre in Besançon

On 31 May 2013 in Besançon (east of France), Marisol Touraine, French Minister for Social Affairs and Health, laid the foundation stone for the cancerology and biology centre at the regional teaching hospital (CHRU). The construction work, worth €41m, is being undertaken on a general contracting basis by Verazzi and Campenon Bernard Franche-Comté (VINCI Construction France subsidiaries). On handover (scheduled for 2015), the centre (19,000 sq. metres on seven levels) will house 11 biology laboratories and the activities of the cancerology department, as well as the IRFC (regional federative cancer institute).
