Embankment for a nuclear site
At Marcoule (south of France), on behalf of the CEA (French Atomic Energy Commission), Eurovia Méditerranée’s Nîmes office is completing, after two years of works, the external works for a building for the storage of nuclear waste.
This project went through a number of delicate phases, notably the creation of a 7 m-high embankment in the vicinity of the building under construction, the compacting of this embankment using a pneumatic tyred roller and, finally, the protection of a leak-proof collection basin where the drainage system with its geotextiles and drainage materials had to be installed by hand.
