Cut-and-cover tunnel in Marseilles

Soletanche Bachy, a Soletanche Freyssinet subsidiary (VINCI Construction), has just secured the entire construction of a new cut-and-cover tunnel in Marseilles (south of France), at the worksite for the future Capitaine Gèze station, the first milestone of the extension northwards of the metro. The works started in October 2013 and will last 20 months. They include supplying a diaphragm wall (under limited height conditions), barrettes and foundation piles, jet grouting, and the civil engineering and earthworks.
