Construction and operation of the new faculty of agricultural and nutritional sciences in Kiel, Germany

VINCI Energies has signed a public-private partnership with the state of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany regarding the construction and operation of a new agronomy faculty in Kiel.

The project covers the design, construction and operation of a six-storey building spanning 11,000 m2.
Located on the campus for Kiel’s Christian-Albrecht University, the new building will be home to six institutes and also include offices for an IT centre.
The design was created with the aim of reaching certification for high environmental performance from BNB,* Germany’s federal ministry for construction.
After 33 months of work, the operation phase is set to launch in April 2024 and last 25 years.

*All criteria for a sustainable building must be already included and planned at the design phase. In order to qualify, the design must reach the silver level in the ranking. Certification is only then delivered after construction is completed.
