Building a flyover in Vendée, France
Since February 2019, Eurovia Béton (lead contractor), Bodin (Eurovia) and VINCI Construction Terrassement have been working as a consortium to build a flyover above the Palissy roundabout — the busiest in the Vendée department, located on the RD160 B‑road in La Roche-sur-Yon.
The dual carriageway flyover will help relieve traffic congestion in the area, improving mobility to the north of the town.
The teams have just 22 months to build the 120‑m long and 20‑m wide structure and its adjacent slip roads, requiring 4,000 m of precast concrete beams. The project demonstrates the synergy between the three companies involved as, in addition to the structure itself, earthworks and road surface renovation will also be carried out.
