Un prix de la résilience pour le Kansai Airports

Resilience award for Kansai Airports

Kansai Airports (VINCI Airports/ VINCI Concessions) has been selected to receive the Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers 2021, for its plan to improve Kansai International Airport’s resilience in the face of natural catastrophes.

This plan – to increase the height of dykes (over a distance of 6 km) and install tetrapods to protect the coastline (4.7 km) – was launched after the typhoon Jebi struck the airport in 2018. The construction works, completed in just three years, have contributed to the development of the country’s coastal areas and infrastructure.
