Remote management systems for a giant pipeline

The West East Pipeline Company, a subsidiary of the PetroChina oil group, has awarded Cegelec Automation Frankfurt and Cegelec Beijing (VINCI Energies International) two contracts relating to the extension of the 4,000 km-long gas pipeline linking the Lunnan gas field, in the west of the country, to Shanghai. Cegelec Automation Frankfurt is charged with upgrading and extending the remote monitoring and data acquisition systems at 6 existing stations and equipping 17 new stations. In this capacity, the company will be responsible for the engineering, procurement of the equipment, installation and commissioning. The works, wich will take 2 years, will be carried out by Cegelec Beijing.
