Confortement dunaire sur la plage sud de Soulac-sur-Mer

Reinforcing the dunes of the south beach in Soulac-sur-Mer

The Nord-Médoc coast (west of France) is bordered by sandy dunes which are constantly being eroded by the ocean swell.

In order to preserve the coastline, to enable local residents to enjoy the coast and to support tourism and economic activity in the region, VINCI Construction Terrassement teams, on behalf of the Médoc Atlantique community of communes, have reinforced the dunes, building them up with 63,500 m3 of new sand. Operations began in May and were completed in mid-June, making the beach available for the start of the summer season.
