Nuclear decommissioning
Nuvia (Soletanche Freyssinet/VINCI Construction), together with EDF teams, has opened the reactor vessel of the Superphénix nuclear power station at Creys Malville (south-eastern France).
Once the core cover plug has been extracted (weight: 188 t; height: 11 m; diameter: 4 m), it will be cut up in a workshop designed and built by Nuvia, in collaboration with Robatel Industries. The most irradiating parts will be cut up from a distance, in a teleoperation carried out with the help of the Rodin robot, specially developed for this purpose.
