First section of Rail Baltica
Late summer 2015 saw Eurovia Lietuva hand over the first section of the future Rail Baltica rail link between Warsaw (Poland) and Tallinn (Estonia). This 950 km-long railway line is notably intended to open up the Baltic countries which, until now, have had just one rail link, with St. Petersburg and Moscow. The works also included the construction of several stations, the installation of noise barriers and the widening of 2 km of track to comply with both European and Russian track-width standards.
