Engineering in an opencast coal mine

Actemium Fördertechnik Spremberg (VINCI Energies Europe), in a joint venture with ThyssenKrupp, has won a contract with the mining company Bogatyr Komir. The project concerns an opencast coal mine in the Ekibastouz region, in the north-east of the country, and will involve supplying two new conveyor belts, four crushing installations, two coal storage areas and two new installations for loading the coal onto trains. The contract also includes designing a coal quality management system. The design & planning phase, worth €1.5m, will be undertaken in 2015; procurement and the on-site works will be implemented in two tranches, in 2015 and 2016.
